The SafeLogic hardware is extremely compact and, as a safety control system, its graphical programming allows the required programs to be created quickly and easily without extensive training.



SafeMotion s based on the modular drive system ctrlX DRIVE and has scalable software. It is available as an entry-level version, with extended functions or for the highest requirements. At the same time, a purely drive-based safety solution can be achieved with this system, independently of the higher-level control system.


ctrlX SAFETY – a fast and comprehensive safety solution



Why is it so important that ctrlX SAFETY functions are activated more quickly than those in any other automation solution?



The extremely compact SafeLogic hardware is a ctrlX SAFETY component. The intuitive engineering interface, documentation-supported user guidance and ready-made dialogs for the acquisition of acceptance-relevant information allow significantly faster engineering than conventional solutions.

For more demanding applications, the hardware can be extended with additional I/O modules via the secure fieldbus. It has flexible interfaces such as Digital I/O, ctrlX SAFETYlink, Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE) and PROFIsafe (in preparation). Via ctrlX SAFETYlink, secure I/O signals are exchanged between SafeLogic and SafeMotion on the ctrlX DRIVE.


SafeMotion brings safety functions to exactly where motion occurs: to the drive. It is therefore unmatched in terms of speed.

With ctrlX SAFETY, the SafeMotion and SafeLogic components communicate as a complete solution via ctrlX SAFETYlink. This is 5 to 10 times faster than classic fieldbuses. As a result, the very fastest processing times from 1 ms can be achieved in the FastChannel task. These features form the basis for the highest protection and the compact design of safety devices.


Thanks to the short reaction times of ctrlX SAFETY, it can be integrated into machines in the smallest of spaces while the fully certified safety technology allows efficient machine acceptance procedures. Once a safety solution has been planned, it can be integrated into different machine concepts without complex adaptation. As it supports the most common secure fieldbus protocols, ctrlX SAFETY can be integrated into almost any ecosystem, and modular safety concepts with secure cross communication can be realized. The system can be integrated into an existing automation topology.

Certified libraries and function blocks help to increase safety. The highest safety level (Cat. 4, PLe in accordance with ISO 13849-1 SIL3 in accordance with IEC 62061) applies. Long-term availability and ease of maintenance provide extra peace of mind.
